Both hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes,

General Ten Commandments

And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tablets of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. 13 And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. (Exodus 24:12-13)

The Magna Carta begins, “John, by the grace of God King of England.” It then says “Know that before God, for the health of our soul and those of our ancestors and heirs, to the honor of God, the exaltation of the holy church, and the better ordering of our kingdom.”

Magna Carta is Latin for Great Charter. This extremely important document has been called:

“The greatest constitutional document of all time, the foundation of the freedom of the individual against the arbitrary authority of the despot.”

The king was no longer the law. He was under the law.

General Declaration Of Independence
